Sheffie and Maggie were absolutely wonderful and deserve special recognition. I had quite a few questions, especially around the spa rates and specials, and as a first-time guest I was admittedly a bit confused. Not once did either of them seem impatient or rushed. Instead, they took the time to thoroughly explain everything, answer every question, and make sure I fully understood my options. From the moment I checked in, they walked me through each step of the process with such patience and kindness. Even after check-in, they continued to help with my follow-up questions, always with a friendly attitude and genuine willingness to assist. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail truly stood out and made me feel welcomed and cared for. Because of Sheffie and Maggie, the entire experience felt seamless and enjoyable. They elevated what was already a beautiful, stunning hotel into an exceptional stay. Customer service like theirs makes a lasting impression, and they are a true asset to the property.

First time at the American Club. We have wanted to come for a very long time, but it never seemed to fit into a busy schedule. After staying for the weekend, we honestly felt like we had wasted decades of travel without experiencing the wonder of this place. Rooms: We were very impressed with the size, quality, and amenities of our room. Plush beds with plenty of pillows. An HVAC system that was very responsive. Several chairs for easy and comfortable sitting. A nice-sized TV with remotes that actually work, and a good selection of streaming options. The bathroom and shower plumbing alone are enough to spoil anyone who uses it. I can’t say enough about how comfortable the room was. Service: The entire place excels at truly over-the-top service. We arrived to check in and were given free valet parking. There are shuttles available to and from any of the Kohler properties. The reception staff did a great job checking us in and even provided a special mocktail to welcome us. The room staff went far beyond just cleaning and refreshing the room. They actually folded and organized clothes I had left in different spots. The nightly turndown service was wonderful, complete with samples of Kohler Chocolates. Location: Located in Kohler, just a short drive to Sheboygan. You get the best of both rural and city amenities. We never felt like we were stuck in the middle of nowhere. We enjoyed the entire weekend and will definitely put this place on our yearly travel rotation. They also have plenty of dining options, which will each get their own separate reviews.

My wife and I attended a conference at the American Club. It was a wonderful experience. We greatly enjoyed our room as and all of the other amenities and facilities. The staff was great and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone.

Perfection on every level -- the accommodations were warm, inviting, and spotless. From the heated bathroom floor to the amazing Kohler shower, it was the respite from the real world I was seeking. Add in amazing clean eating, yoga on the lake, easy to navigate shuttle service, nightly turndown service, friendly and knowledgeable staff interactions....it was memory making at its best. Kudos to all. Well done.

American Club: Phenomenal service; best I've had anywhere. Room was beautiful; jacuzzi tub filled quickly! Food & service in the Wisconsin Room was unsurpassed at both breakfast & dinner. Only flaw was the merch we bought at the gift shop dissapperared at the Horse & Plow bar & was never seen again. Aside from that--it was a perfect couple of nights!

I wish there were more than 5 stars to extend. From the moment you are warmly greeted, the beautiful accommodations, personal attention and superior service will carry you to an absolutely unforgettable experience. Every aspect of The American Club is simply the best!

Few American resorts manage to feel both storied and consistently renewed. The American Club at Kohler is one of them. After many years of near-annual visits—most recently as a year-end birthday tradition—our early 2026 stay reaffirmed why this property remains a benchmark for Midwestern luxury hospitality. Arrival & First Impressions We arrived as snow was gently falling, instantly elevating the sense of place. Winter suits Kohler well, and with Frozen Fairways underway, the resort felt both festive and refined. Despite arriving before 1:00 p.m., we were graciously checked in early—a small but telling signal of the American Club’s service philosophy. From valet to front desk to concierge, the staff consistently demonstrated an authentic commitment to making the stay seamless and memorable. This is not scripted service; it is practiced excellence. Accommodations We were upgraded to a Governor’s Suite—an experience that deserves special mention. Beautifully appointed and thoughtfully themed in homage to Mark Twain, the suite balanced elegance with warmth and personality. The craftsmanship, comfort, and attention to detail were exemplary, reinforcing the American Club’s reputation for rooms that feel both luxurious and lived-in. Dining Experiences Lunch at the Blackwolf Run Restaurant set a pleasant tone. The service and ambiance were excellent, and while the food was good, it did not quite rise to the level one expects at this caliber. My turkey pita was very good, though others in our group found their selections merely “fine.” That said, the snowy landscape and Frozen Fairways atmosphere softened any culinary shortcomings. Dinner at the Horse & Plow was a highlight. The smash burger I enjoyed ranks among the best I’ve had anywhere—perfectly executed and satisfying without pretension. Service was attentive and polished, striking the right balance for a relaxed evening. Pre- and post-dinner cocktails in the Library Bar remain one of the American Club’s great pleasures. The ambiance is timeless, intimate, and quietly elegant, and the bartender delivered outstanding craftsmanship and hospitality. The following morning’s brunch in the Wisconsin Room was a fitting finale. The setting alone is worth the visit—classic, light-filled, and distinctly Kohler. Whether enjoying the brunch offerings or ordering à la carte, the food was very good, and, as throughout the stay, service was consistently excellent. Spa & Activities No visit to Kohler is complete without time at the Kohler Waters Spa, and it once again delivered. Every treatment was very good, reaffirming that it is nearly impossible to go wrong with any selection here. Meanwhile, our friends enjoyed the Swing Suite golf experience, a reliable and enjoyable option we’ve also appreciated on past visits. Departure & Final Thoughts Checkout was effortless, assisted by the same outstanding valet team that welcomed us upon arrival—a small detail, but one that completes the experience on a high note. The American Club is not just a luxury resort; it is a destination defined by consistency, craftsmanship, and genuinely warm service. While not every dish reaches greatness, the total experience—particularly in winter—more than compensates. For celebrations, retreats, or simply a refined escape, the American Club at Kohler remains highly recommended and continues to stand apart as one of America’s great resort experiences.
